The SimsHost Hullabaloo is here!

This discussion board features webcraft, technical work, and an amusing Flash intro by Carrot.

Hullabaloo is especially important to folks who use the Ultimate Sims List because as soon as we get the scripts working, you will need to sign in with your Hullabaloo credentials when you want to add or edit an entry in the Ultimate Sims List.

We really needed a system where you could log on to use the editing features for the Ultimate Sims List and the Hullabaloo user database provides everything we need. It's free and always will be, new accounts are confirmed via email, and the database is on our server so the Ultimate Sims List can directly query the user database.

In related news, we plan to direct all traffic from Ye Olde Town Inn as well as the SimsHost EZBoard to Hullabaloo so that we don't spread ourselves too thin. We will make those old boards read-only.

So stop by, sign up, and post a note to introduce yourself! We are sure Carrot will be eager to hear what you think of the new board, so don't be shy!

Note that you choose what skin you want to use for Hullabaloo. Each skin gives the board a very different appearance, but all the messages and functions are available with each skin. Carrot has ten different skins available now. Greg's favorite is Solaris. (What would you expect from a guy who designs space ships and writes science fiction?)

SimsHost subscribers, please note: Hullabaloo has its own user database so it will not recognize your SimsHost login. You have to create a membership account for Hullabaloo. It's OK to use the same username and password for Hullabaloo if that's convenient for you. We are working on modifications to the core system that will allow for use of one login for both Hullabaloo and all the SimsHost services, but that will take several weeks.

Webmasters and artists from more than a dozen sites collaborated for weeks to create the SimsHost Mall Maze especially for you! Even if you don't have your SimsHost subscription yet, you can still experience the adventure and download many of the goodies you will find in the wacky mall!

Unlike our previous treasure hunts, this adventure is a self-contained web site all to itself -- designed, built, maintained, and hosted by Candace's Sim Bazaar!

Now the we are in our third terrific year, we thought you would like to know that the sites hosted by SimsHost taken collectively are still by far the largest site for The Sims in the world. Well, in all ways but one: We still have the lowest subscription cost of any site.

Continuing subscribers are still paying only $2.00 a month (plus about a tenth of a penny per download on the average). That's about a third the cost of a typical stand-alone subscription site, for access to a hundred times as many downloads. We are pleased and proud to be able to do this while allowing each site to retain its own individual personality, even as SimsHost continues to grow.
