Elemental Sims Opens on SimsHost This Week!
Elemental Sims opened on March 1, 2005 with a fascinating selection of wild skin tones as well as matching clothing sets, houses, and more, each reflecting one of The Elements.
The trick to navigating the site is to click on the images for each of the
four -- erm... five! -- elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. In each category
you will find more little icons indicating what selections are available for that element: Items,
Construction, Houses, Neighborhoods, and Sims. And under the Sims for each element, you'll find
icons for Clothing, Accessories, and Genetics.
If the icon is in color, something is available in that section. If it's gray, then there's nothing there yet.
SimsHost Yahoo Group Celebrates Third Anniversary
Now your sims can show their neighbors that they've had their Smart Milk, because they subscribe to SimsHost!
To get the t-shirt, go to the Yahoo group's files section and look in the Third Anniversary folder.
Gosh, Those Are Big Files!
Reviewing the server traffic and the bandwidth bill for the past couple of months, we've learned that Sims 2 files run 10 to 100 times larger than a similar item for The Sims. Many downloads for Sims 2 files are running in the pennies instead of less than one cent each; still incredibly inexpensive but if you are a very active downloader you will probably notice the effect and might want to keep an eye on your account balance. To check your account balance, click on the link to Maintain Your Account.
After You Have Funded Your Account, Don't Forget to Activate Your Subscription
The new system we deployed on January 1, 2005 adds three important options for SimsHost users: (1) You can download without a subscription at a premium rate. (2) You can subscribe for a little as one month at a time. And (3) you can even create a free account to get access to the free services and downloads on SimsHost. We kept the subscription rates the same as before by adding an activation fee that applies to new subscriptions and subscriptions that are renewed after having been expired for more than 30 days.
Unless you only download a very few items each month, the $2.00 a month subscription is considerably less expensive. So if you want to subscribe, make sure to go to Maintain Your Account and activate your subscription.
If you enable auto-renewal, your subscription will renew each month automatically using money from your SimsHost account. You can turn off auto-renewal; if you leave it off for more than 30 days then the activate fee will apply when you reactivate it. SimsHost does not do recurring charges to credit cards or PayPal
