SimsHost Chronicle
Secrets of the Secret Society The Landgrabb Society is a pain, but there are benefits to membership! Life is not easy for a shy young maiden at Sim State University. You've worked your tail off to make ends meet while maintaining a 4.0 gradepoint during your freshman year. You only have a few hours until your final exam and you want to get plenty of rest. That nice, comfy bed that you worked so hard to earn beckons you to slumber. All is going well in your college career! And then, just as you thought you had everything under control, some jerk in a preppie blazer shows up, dumps a load of attitude on your head, and then handcuffs you! He hauls you off, not to a police car, but to a limousine, which transports you to the home of the Landgrabb Society. Once there, a collection really ugly people wearing the same livery leave you standing in the street clad in nought but your underpants while they laugh at you. Finally they reveal that you are to be inducted into their secret society! So, what do you do? Hide your true feelings? Just laugh off this sick act of cruel terror as a joke and rejoice that you've made it into the Landgrabb Society? Or perhaps spawn Rodney's Death Creator and give their Maker another chance with these soulless reprobates? (Note the tombstones in the picture and the satisfied smile on Laganaphyllis simnovorii!) OK, this was cute the first time it happened in the game. It was kind of amusing the second time. But when the Landgrabb Society was kidnapping naive young virgins in their underwear, we went searching for a game hack to put a stop to the madness. However, despite the obvious mental illness of the Maxian programmers who thought it would be funny to have NPC sims committing federal crimes that, in the real world, would land them in prison serving 20 years to life and a load of civil suits that they'll never be able to pay off, there are benefits to the Secret Society. Once you're a member, you can use the Landgrabb house as a time warp. If you are behind in your studies and finals are looming, you can go to the secret society house and get caught up. Unlike downtown lots, you can buy things and build things at the Landgrabb house, and the changes are permanent. Build a little bedroom at the house and your sim can stay there indefinitely, using time that doesn't get charged against the countdown clock. (Don't stay too many nights in a row, though. You can't save while you're at the house so the game will accumulate memory until it crashes. Just go home to save the game and then head right back.) You also can meet lots of new friends at the society house, and invest off-hours time in getting to know them. Even though you have sent the sickos to their final rest, the game will generate replacements. Now you have some nice gravestones that just might generate some ghosts to satisfy the strange desires of your Knowledge sims, and that extra bedroom gives your Romance sims a place to frolic while keeping up their school work. And finally, the society house is chock full of interesting toys. They have quite a collection of career rewards sprinkled around for your sim to play with. Add a plastic surgery and Merola's Mind Control Mirror to build an NPC Repair Shop, and you're all set for a fun and interesting college career!
